# About Mikey Piro

Mikey Piro is a West Point graduate, Army combat veteran, founder of Guild.ai, and father of four. This site is where he keeps the short version of the story and links to everything longer.

## Warrior Scholar

Mikey played lacrosse and graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point. He was a philosophy major. He is Ranger qualified and served in Infantry and Cavalry units, with two combat deployments to Iraq. The mechanized infantry part he learned on the job.

## Builder

Mikey worked on developer infrastructure (DevInfra) at Meta. He then founded [Guild.ai](https://www.guild.ai/), the control plane for AI agents. Guild gives engineering teams one place to manage, govern, and share the agents they run in production, with security and observability built in.

## Nerd

Fighting games, comic books, Warhammer 40k, anime, and sci-fi paperbacks. The stuff that kept a kid curious became the fuel for an adult who never stopped building worlds.

## Writing

Mikey publishes essays called Dispatches at [mikeypiro.substack.com](https://mikeypiro.substack.com). The newest ones also show up on the [homepage](https://www.mikeypiro.com/#writing).
